Bio

Born and raised in the Catskills of Woodstock NY, Carole's music grows out of the lush peaceful beauty of the mountains. The ever present surge upwards towards hope, perseverance, and freedom is colored by Woodstock folk and rock roots, civil rights music, swing and blues, and textured by percussive language, learned at the hands of a drum.  She plays rhythmically driven guitar and sings songs and stories with a message to move your body, use your voice, use your power, and use your life for something good. Her Debut Cd "Inside Out" was released 7/12th 2019.

When Carole learned guitar at 11 years old she fell in love. Having lost her mother when she was 7, playing guitar and singing was her healing salve. When she was sad she would go to her room to play and sing until she felt better. It always worked. John Denver, James Taylor, Carly Simon, and Simon and Garfunkel pulled her through. This impetus continues to this day in her songwriting whether upbeat or soulful there is always a quest to rise up out of the darkness.

She studied drumming at 18 years which brought her rhythm guitar up to an infectious level. In recent years she added alto saxophone to her artillary of instruments in order to join the Rosendale community brass band which plays New Orleans Jazz and multi-cultural music. She has also been influenced by Van Morrison, Indigo Girls and Bonnie Raitt.

Carole sells crystals, beads, and jewelry as Voices of the Stones in the Woodstock Flea Market. It takes her across country a couple times of year. She plays at the Woodstock Summer Concert Series and in the Woodstock Flea Market, Red Hook Library Summer Concert Series, Rosendale Rocks the River, the Tucson Gem Show: Wormtown Trading productions, as well as in Colorado, and Iowa City IA.

The CD release party was 7/12th at the Beverly Lounge in Kingston NY. TG Vanini will be on fiddle, Andy Shapiro on mandolin, Fre Atlast on percussion, Amy Soucy, Julie Parisi-Kirby and Lisa Klotz on harmonies.
